Virginia Rappe and Rudolf Valentino played the roles of spies or conspirators in the unreleased Over the Rhine (1918), a Julian Eltinge vehicle that was reedited as a comedy, first as The Adventuress (1920) and later as a Valentino-exploitation picture, Isle of Love (1922).
